There is something, or things, in your life that are getting in your way of being happy, or even content. You want to feel better. Thoughts of I am not good enough, yet everyone sees me as having it all together, are constantly running through your head. They think I can handle it all and that I am on top of my game. You feel like you’re this imposter that is going to be found out sooner or later. You may hear from others that you are so hard on yourself, yet you just don’t see it.
You talk about either being always on edge, snap at people easily, anxious, overwhelmed, or on the other hand, depressed. The frustrating thing is that you don’t always know why you are experiencing these things. What you do notice that you are having a hard time in your relationships, but again, may not know why. That’s part of what therapy is about, is helping you find what’s at the root of these feelings.
Deciding to come to therapy, and finding the right therapist for you, is a big step in itself. What I generally let people know is that making that first call can be the hardest part. Once you’re able to make that first connection, there is often a sense of relief that you found someone you know will understand you.
During your session, you are in the pilot’s seat. Therefore, you are the one that ultimately controls how fast or slow we go. Think of me as your co-pilot, in the sense that I am there to support you, help guide you, and help you navigate through this journey.
We offer both traditional talk therapy and EMDR therapy. We love helping people understand what is holding them back and how to move forward.
