Suicide and Grief Counseling
“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”
As the Clinical Supervisor of a children’s mobile crisis team that operated 24/7 for almost 5 years,I witnessed first hand many young people and their parents suffering from suicidal thoughts or having made suicide attempts. On the other end of the spectrum, I also worked with those who were grieving the loss of a loved one who died from suicide. Unfortunately, there are not enough people who do specialize in this area.
I continue to work extensively with clients dealing with issues around suicide and am on the board of the American Association of Suicidology as the Chair of the Youth Suicide Prevention Committee. I’m also very involved in the Communications committee and work with the media in learning how to publish this kind of news in a sensitive and appropriate way.
I am very passionate about seeing people work through the grief process and heal from suicidal thoughts and/or the loss of someone close to them. Sometimes the first step is the hardest and we know that! We are here to guide you and support you in your healing process.
